STERLING BIO

As a former NCAA Division I football player and Power 5 performance coach (FSU), Sterling Brown has been serving college and professional athletes and teams for nearly 30 years. A pioneer and trusted resource in the field of student-athlete development, in 2011 he created and pioneered the first full-time NCAA Division I Character Development program in the country (Kennesaw State University) where he served as Director of Character Development for over a decade.  In that role, he oversaw the development and implementation of programming aimed at leadership development, improving team culture, and increasing community engagement.  He has advised leaders at dozens of schools who seek to develop similar programs.  

A skilled communicator, Sterling has delivered over 1,200 keynotes, talks, and workshops in six different countries and spoken on a wide range of topics at over 70 different campuses including the National Football League, the New York Jets, the University of Alabama Athletics Department, University of Washington Football, the United States Naval Academy, The Southeastern Conference, and more.  More than just a speaker, Sterling is a leader of leaders.  He has served as an NHL chaplain and mentor to NFL,  MLB players, and hundreds of Division I student-athletes and served for 10 years in fulli-time ministry before transitioning to focus primarily on collegiate athletics.  Some of his time is given to the non-profit ministry, 925 Athletic Ministries, which provides faith-based resources to teams and training for leaders desiring to serve as character coaches, chaplains, and faith-driven mentors. 

Through his genuine, authentic style, Sterling empowers coaches  to better connect with those they lead, and provides athletes with tools to improve their leadership, teamwork  and performance. 

Sterling and his wife, Myssi, have been married 26+ years and have four adult children.
